Foundation in Business

The foundation course leads to the International Degree pathway. This qualification framework allows candidates to demonstrate key transferable study skills, mathematical understanding and applied IT competency, as well as an understanding of the essential concepts of business and economics. In addition, successful candidates will fulfill the main entry requirements for NCC Education’s Level 4 Diploma in Business, as well as opening up opportunities to access a range of higher education courses or employment. Course Duration is 6 months for foundation in Business course.

Recommended Candidates

  • Students aged 16-19 or adult learners
  • Students who had been passed grade 9 or O level
  • Students who have plan to study international diploma or UK degree
  • Students who have been touch international study or other equivalent levels
Foundation in Computing

The foundation course leads to the International Degree pathway. In addition, successful candidates will fulfill the main entry requirements for NCC Education’s Level 4 Diploma in Computing, as well as opening up opportunities to access a range of higher education courses or employment. Course Duration is 6 months for foundation in Computing course.

  • Students aged 16-19 or adult learners
  • Students who had been passed grade 9 or O level

Level 4 Diploma in Business (L4DB)

The programme is equivalent to the first year of the Business degree qualification in UK university system. This diploma has been introduced to the many different aspects of international business in today’s world.

On successful completion of this qualification, you will be exposed to both academic and vocational aspects of a wide range of subjects, enabling you to gain the necessary knowledge and skills vital for a career in business or further studies.

Course Duration is one year for Level 4 Diploma course.

  • NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Business (L3DB) or Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES)

What will you learn to L4DB: A Quick Tour on Units

Students must study the following eight core units:

  • Business Mathematics – covers a range of mathematical techniques and formulae to support business studies and develop the ability to make informed business decisions. Students will also be taught to present and analyse business data.
  • Communications for Business – gives an introduction to a wide range of skills for business professionals. Students will cover the production of various types of documents and presentations as well as the skills needed to communicate effectively in a business environment.
  • eBusiness – explores a wide range of applications for eCommerce and the use of these in solving business problems. Students will learn about state-of-the-art technologies and their major impact on the business world.
  • Essentials of Management – covers the principles and functions of management. Students will be taught the key elements in planning and decision-making, and the significance of different controls required in an organization.
  • Fundamentals of Economics – covers fundamental economic theories and concepts which are applied in decision-making in a business environment. Students will gain an understanding of the economic environment and its effect upon business organizations and their markets.
  • Introduction to Finance – introduces the basic concepts and techniques of financial and managerial accounting. It considers the role of accounting in recording and reporting financial performance and in providing information to decision makers.
  • Principles of Marketing – examines the role and value of marketing in today’s increasingly competitive and dynamic environment. Students will practise marketing principles in order to analyse, plan and implement policies to achieve marketing and corporate objectives.
  • Understanding Business Organizations – introduces the objectives, roles, functions and various forms of business organizations as they adapt to a dynamic and changing environment.

Progression and Careers Opportunities

The qualification allows students entry to either the NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Business which is equivalent to year 2 of a typical UK Honours degree or the second year of many UK university degree courses, or enables them to pursue a career in the business industry.

Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC)

Level 4 Diploma in Computing (RQF) (L4DC) is equivalent to the first year of an IT degree in the UK university system. Students will be given the opportunity to develop essential thinking and study skills. The qualification will allow them to equip fundamental skills and knowledge in computing, preparing you for further study or enhancing your professional development and employability within the IT industry.

On successful completion of the qualification students will be awarded the NCC Level 4 Diploma and will be able to embark on NCC Education’s Level 5 Diploma in Computing (L5DC).

Course Duration is one year for Level 4 Diploma course.

  • NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Computing (L3DC) or Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES)
  • Students who want to join UK education or UK degree
  • Students who had been passed grade 11 or matriculated examination
  • Students who require UK computing diploma to apply appropriate international job
  • Students who have over two years’ relevant work experience and equivalent levels.
What will you learn to L4DC: A Quick Tour on Units

Students must study the following eight core units:

  • Skills for Computing – provides the essential skills for a computing student (including study, presentation, report-writing and data handling skills). Not only will this unit prepare for successful outcomes in studies, but it will also provide skills that can be applied in the workplace.
  • Computer Networks – networking and communication skills are vitally important in today’s connected world. In this unit students will develop a good understanding of basic theory, and also develop useful practical skills.
  • Computer Systems – supports the development of practical skills in the configuration, maintenance, fault-finding and trouble-shooting of modern computer systems and develops knowledge of computer architecture.
  • Designing and Developing a Website – develops practical skills in website design by providing a detailed understanding of mark-up languages, style sheets, design techniques and testing.
  • Databases – provides thorough training in practical techniques of the design and development of database systems together with developing a sound understanding of the underpinning theory.
  • Designing and Developing Object-Oriented Computer Programmes – provides a thorough introduction to computer programming using Java.
  • Software Development Techniques – addresses the wider issues of software development together with a language-independent survey of useful data structures and algorithms.
  • Office Solutions Development – develops practical skills in the automation of common office applications to support a variety of tasks.

 

Progression and Careers Opportunities

The qualification units are designed for students with a blend of technical IT skills and business expertise that will prepare them for a career in senior management IT roles. This is also entry to either the NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Computing (RQF), or the second year of many UK university degree courses or enables you to pursue a career in the IT industry.

Level 5 Diploma in Business (L5DB)

Level 5 Diploma in Business (L5DB), which is equivalent to the second year of a UK Bachelor’s degree. This qualification framework or course Exposing students to greater detail and more advanced topics in a range of areas including economics, marketing, finance and management.

On successful completion of the qualification students will be able to complete the final year of a degree with the NCC Education Business Administration Top Up validated by the University of Worcester, at one of the many universities that recognize NCC Education qualifications, or pursue a career in the business industry.

Course Duration is one year for Level 5 Diploma course.

What will you learn to L5DB: A Quick Tour on Units

Students must study the following eight core units:

  • Advanced Business Mathematics – provides an understanding of how a number of statistical and mathematical techniques are applied in economic and business decision-making.
  • Business Economics – examines how an organization can achieve its objectives most efficiently through the application of micro-economic theory and the tools of analysis of decision science, such as statistics and quantitative methods. It demonstrates how economic analysis can be used in formulating business policies.
  • Principles of Business Operations – explores the operations management function and its basis in creating and sustaining effective and efficient operations which deliver the products or services in a manner which achieves the objectives of the organization. You will analyse this with respect to cost, quality, flexibility, dependability and speed.
  • Human Resources in Business – explores the dynamic role of human resource management policies and practices in contemporary organizations and their contribution to the goals of those organizations. It defines and critically examines the major philosophies, policies, procedures and practices related to the management of human resources.
  • Information Systems and Organizations – introduces the subject of information systems and technology in organizations, taking a broad management perspective. Students will gain an understanding of the current and future role of information systems in modern organizations, including an appreciation of the social, cultural and political aspects that are important to the successful adoption of technology.
  • Marketing in Business – highlights the need for managers to view the role of marketing as critical to their organization. The crucial role of marketing in contributing to the success of organizations is emphasised.
  • Financial Management – builds on your knowledge of fundamental financial concepts in financial and management accounting by considering the applications of these topics in a business environment and by examining a set of more advanced issues.
  • Understanding Consumer Behaviour – provides an understanding of customers’ needs and the complexity of the decision making process customers undertake in both consumer and industrial markets.

The qualification allows students onto NCC Education’s final year top-up qualifications in Business (further entry requirements may apply), or to a third year of many UK university degree courses of the business education industry as well as to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to play a significant role in world-wide business organizations.

Level 5 Diploma in Computing (L5DC)

Level 5 Diploma in Computing (RQF) (L5DC), which is equivalent to the second year of a UK Bachelor’s degree. This qualification builds upon the knowledge gained during the NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing and exposing students to greater detail and more advanced topics in a range of areas including database development, information systems analysis, network security and cryptography.

On successful completion of the qualification students will be awarded the NCC Level 5 Diploma and transfer to a university or pursue a career in the IT industry.

Course Duration is one year for Level 5 Diploma course.

What will you learn to L5DC: A Quick Tour on Units

Students must study the following eight core units:

  • Database Design and Development – develops skills in the design and development of databases and database management systems, as well as investigating enterprise applications of databases.
  • Network Security and Cryptography – provides students with the underlying theory and practical skills required to secure networks and to send data safely and securely over network communications.
  • Information Systems Analysis – equips students with a range of tools to analyze the function and requirements of information systems, as well as the skills to compare systems analysis models, and to examine them in the wider context of the Internet and the social, economic and political climate of an organization.
  • Dynamic Websites – builds on existing knowledge of both databases and web design in order to build dynamic websites and also equips students with a range of skills to present content on the World Wide Web.
  • Analysis, Design and Implementation – provides in-depth knowledge, skills and experience in the use of object-orientated techniques for the development of software. The unit also develops expertise in object-oriented analysis, design and coding, and the testing of systems.
  • Agile Development – explores the processes, people, practices and principles of agile development systems. The unit fully prepares students for the future trends in software development and reinforces understanding of the information systems development process.
  • Professional Issues in IT – highlights the professional issues that impact on the development, deployment, maintenance and use of computer systems. This unit will equip students with the knowledge surrounding social, ethical and legal issues applicable to the IT field and also a working understanding of software quality.
  • Computing Project – gives the opportunity to utilise the skills needed to develop a computing artefact to solve a problem, which involves research, analysis, design, coding, testing and project management knowledge and expertise.
